Oxford Global Youth Academy - Clinical Medicine Training Programme

Program Overview

This program is specially designed for high school students aged 17 and above who are considering medicine as their future university pathway. Through hands-on engagement with leading medical professionals from the University of Oxford, participants will build a strong foundation in clinical skills and medical knowledge. Students will gain valuable insight into the UK healthcare system, practice essential medical techniques, and explore real-world case studies. By the end of the program, participants will receive an official certificate of completion — an impressive addition to their academic portfolio and a meaningful step toward a future in medicine.

Teaching sessions will take place at selected departments within Oxford University, one of the world’s most prestigious institutions. Program Curriculum

Part 1: ClinicalSkills & Case Studies

  • Disease Management: Learn UK-based strategies for managing diabetes, respiratory, cardiovascular and kidney diseases.
  • Neurodegenerative Disorders: Understand pathology and treatment advancements.
  • Advanced Cancer Treatment: Explore pathology and treatment.
  • Research & Precision Medicine: Learn cutting-edge techniques for disease diagnosis and treatment.
  • Metabolic Liver Disease & Endocrinology: Examine metabolic disorders affecting liver and endocrine health.
  • Clinical Pharmacology: Optimise drug therapies.
  • EBL and IPL Case Units: Collaboratively study real-world case scenarios.

Part 2: SSU –Student Selected Components

This program includes Student Selected Units (SSU), allowing participants to choose specialised topics for in-depth study. These components provide flexibility for students to tailor their learning experience based on their interests and career goals.

Part 3: Evidence-BasedMedicine (EBM) Workshops

  • Foundations of EBM: Learn how to formulate clinical questions and assess medical literature.
  • Research Design & NHS Guidelines: Understand study design impact on decision-making.
